Funktion began as a concept in 1996 by two young song writers, Devin B. (Vocalist) and Mike L. (Guitarist) searched for a third member which they found in a talented musician and artist, Steve V. (Bassist). By combining the musical as well as artistic ability of its members, the group was able to create a powerful new sound and stage persona that would take on the name of FUNKTION. The group combined electronic beats and acoustic rhythms with catchy melodies and simple hooks to create a sound that caught the ears of many people. FUNKTION released thier debut album by the title of Soulgasm “14 Rings Around Saturn” and a sophmore album by the title of Party Bus to Hollywood. FUNKTION went on to perform the local circuit of famous venues with many other well known artists.

Recording Artists Funktion appeared live with include: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone temple Pilots, Incubus, Crazy Town, The Offspring, Pennywise, Mike D, Mix master Mike, Weezer, Kotton Mouth Kings, (HED)p.e., Lit, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Lefty, SX10, Dial7, Weapon of choice, Rumble Fish and many more. Funktion performed many years in Los Angeles County, Inland Empire and Orange County Ca. at many iconic venues and clubs multiple times.
